Abstract
Cervical pseudoarthrosis is reported in 0-50% anterior cervical fusion cases, and its incidence depends on the graft used, plating, number of fusion levels, and patient factors. Many studies have reported that dynamic plate provides a faster fusion of the cervical spine in comparison to rigid plate. However, dynamic plate does not guarantee fusion in all situations. The aim of our report is to describe our worst stressful surgical experience of anterior cervical pseudoarthrosis after multilevel anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) with dynamic plate and to discuss the choice of plate for multilevel ACDF with a literature review.
